Program Description:

International Independent Study Internship
Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary 

 

Students have the opportunity to complete an international independent study internship with Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in Belize.  Students have multiple levels of engagement with ongoing fieldwork efforts as well as supervised independent study projects of own design. This is an independent study option. A CSU Faculty Member will not be accompany students on this program.

The Diverse Opportunities Include:

  • Building, repairing, and maintaining infrastructure at Monkey Bay 
  • Volunteering in the Belize Zoo
  • Volunteering in local school to enrich education 
  • Volunteering in local communities to improve public health
  • Volunteering in national parks 
  • Rapid bioassessment of streams with Ed Boles

Costs 

The daily intern fee in 2017 to $45 per day, or $300 per week, payable at the beginning of each week.
This included lodging, meals and all of the intern support services needed for engaged and successful project outcome.
